▣ Background of Designation
   Past president Park Jung Hee boarded in this house when he worked as a teacher in Mungyeong Seobusimsang Elementary School (today Mungyeong Elementary School) for 2 years and 11 months from April, 1937 to March, 1940. It was designated as a preserved thatched roof house No. 1 in October, 1978

▣ History
    - 1928: Built by Im Chang Bal. 
    - 1952: Sold to Lee Gap Su.
    - 1976: Sold to Kim Jeong Ho (former student union president, Mungyeong elementary school, CEO          of Samchang Industry). He remodeled it with a thatched roof and donated it to the department of              education of Mungyeong-gun.
    - 1985:  Sold to Yuk Yeong Su, Memorial Society as an endowment foundation.
    - 1989: The foundation stopped maintaining the building and it fell into neglect. Later Mungyeong-gun        provided funding to maintain the roof work. 
    - 1995: The foundation donated the building to the city.
    - 2007 Mungyeong-si took legal possession of the building. Every year on October 26th,                            Cheongunhwe, an association of Park Jung Hee's former students, hosts a memorial ceremony.   

Traditional Jumak* experience with food and beverages (meat stew with rice, red bean-filled cake). *A Jumak was an inn, but a Jumak tourism experience does not include accommodation.
